This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse I thought it was time to do a silent film so I picked one of my favorites. It’s He Who Gets Slapped from 1924. The film was directed by Victor Sjöström and stars Lon Chaney,Norma Shearer and John Gilbert.

Story of an inventor who, suffering betrayal in life, makes a career of it by becoming a clown whose act consists of getting slapped by all the other clowns. He falls in love with another circus performer, and those who betrayed him enter his life yet again.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse with the recent passing of David Bowie we thought we would cover one of his films. So I picked The Hunger from 1983. The film was directed by Tony Scott and stars Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie and Susan Sarandon.

Also Nic is out this week so we will have the Nic-Bot and our friend from the U.K. Mark Mawston will be joining us.

The Egyptian vampire lady Miriam subsists upon the blood of her lovers. In return the guys or girls don’t age… until Miriam has enough of them. Unfortunately that’s currently the case with John, so his life expectancy is below 24 hours. Desperately he seeks help from the famous Dr. Sarah Roberts. She doesn’t really believe his story, but becomes curious and contacts Miriam … and gets caught in her ban, too.

The alumni cast of a space opera television series have to play their roles as the real thing when an alien race needs their help.

When it flies, someone dies!

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse we kick off the New Year with a Horror, Thriller, Mystery film from 1959 called The Bat. The film was directed by Crane Wilbur and stars Vincent Price, Avery Hopwood and Agnes Moorehead.

Mystery writer Cornelia Van Gorder has rented a country house called “The Oaks”, which not long ago had been the scene of some murders committed by a strange and violent criminal known as “The Bat”. Meanwhile, the house’s owner, bank president John Fleming, has recently embezzled one million dollars in securities, and has hidden the proceeds in the house, but he is killed before he can retrieve the money. Thus the lonely country house soon becomes the site of many mysterious and dangerous activities.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse we continue our Christmas themed films as the gang talks about A Christmas Horror Story from 2015. The film was directed by Grant Harvey, Steven Hoban and Brett Sullivan and stars William Shatner.

Interwoven stories that take place on Christmas Eve, as told by one festive radio host: A family brings home more than a Christmas tree, a student documentary becomes a living nightmare, a Christmas spirit terrorizes, and Santa slays evil.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse to get into the season the gang will talk about a Horror, Mystery, Thriller called Black Christmas from 1974. The film was directed Bob Clark and stars Olivia Hussey, Keir Dullea, Margot Kidder and John Saxon.

A sorority house is terrorized by a stranger who makes frightening phone calls and then murders the sorority sisters during Christmas break.
