Hey B-Movie Cast fans in this episode Mary, Nic and special guest Brian Cunningham take a trip to Perfection, Nevada to see what’s shaking with the 1990 monster flick “Tremors”. It’s a personal favorite of Brian and Nic’s which we discovered Mary hadn’t seen before! “Tremors” is an ode to classic sci-fi/horror movies with just the right blend of humor and horror. The film features snappy dialogue and loveable characters including Val and Earl (Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward). So grab a beer, but watch out for Graboids, as we check out “Tremors”.

The B-Movie Cast is back! Mary had to take some time off to get her new bionic hip installed and now she’s ready to slow-mo run with Steve Austin… or at least finally climb the stairs back up the B-Movie Cast studio! So with Mary at the top of the stairs we thought we’d check out the other cowboy-dinosaur movie: “The Beast of Hollow Mountain”. This one is based on a story by Willis O’Brian and was a joint Mexican/American film production.
So get ready for 60 minutes of cowboy politics followed by 19 minutes of Cowboys vs. Dinosaurs with “The Beast of Hollow Mountain” in this episode of The B-Movie Cast!

Halloween is coming and for the B-Movie Cast, that means we do a special film with special guest Mark Mawston! This year’s Halloween treat is “Curse of the Demon” AKA “Night of the Demon” in the UK. The ‘trick’ that comes with this treat is that it was covered way back in episode #78 by the show’s creator, Vince Rotolo, and guest Barry Harding. Normally we wouldn’t revisit a film, but Mary, Nic, and Mark weren’t in on that original podcast and this film is a favorite of Marks so… here we go again!
“Curse of the Demon” is a film about black magic and the eternal struggle between the rational mind and forces of the supernatural. Will science win out over superstition or will we learn that some forces are beyond our understanding? Well, don’t just sit there reading! This episode of the B-movie Cast is a Juan pick- “El Monstruo de los Volcanes” from 1963. It’s a Mexican monster flick featuring an abominable snowman creature living in the desert, in a cave, under a volcano… yeah not much snow for him to be abominable in here, but that’s beside the point. Juan breaks it down for us while Nic has a breakdown about the idea of karate vs Yeti! We also discuss the future of movie/themed conventions and why Mary will be stuck downstairs for 6 weeks.

The B-Movie Cast is back! We’ve got a special guest this week- Dr. Smith! No, not that one, the British one! Dr. Adrian Smith! Adrian is joining Mary and Nic to check out the gonzo Japanese horror film from 1977: “House” (Nihongo de: Hausu).
This was writer/director Nobuhiko Obayashi’s fever dream ghost story from Toho Studios. Toho saw that “Jaws” was a hit and ask Obayashi to make something like “Jaws” for them. Well… he definitely made a movie, but the only things it has in common with Spielberg’s 1975 blockbuster is that they were both filmed on 35mm film stock! “House” is a head trip, but well worth the price of admission!
So grab an Asahi beer, order up some sushi and check out the Japanese horror classic “House”!
