In this episode of the B-Movie Cast Mary and Nic are joined by author Fiona Young-Brown. Fiona has a lot to say about our movie: “Squirm”. While it’s a pretty standard horror fare from the 70s, with enough early FX artist Rick Baker magic to make it stand out, what really got Fiona’s attention was the southern gothic aspect of the film. Mary, who’s lived in the south for over 20 years, can’t quite see the forest for the trees when it comes to southern gothic, but she has figured out what really gets to her when it comes to horror films, and it’s not the gore. So, tune in and find out what’s wiggling through our minds after checking out “Squirm”. If you don’t then remember; you’ll be the worm face!

Fan-favorite Mark Mawston stops by along with filmmaker and Ray and Diana Harryhausen Foundation trustee John Walsh! In honor of film effects legend Ray Harryhausen’s 100th birthday, we’re looking at Ray’s last feature film “Clash of the Titans”. This film features some of Ray’s most celebrated creations including Medusa and The Kraken! John and Mark share personal stories from their relationships with Ray. John also shares with us two rare audio clips, original test submissions from composer John Barry for the movie’s orchestral score.
In part two, Juan joins Mary and Nic to celebrate the 450th episode, give away prizes for this episode’s contest and check out our listener feedback!

The B-Movie Cast is back and we’re ready to save the Earth from Ming The Merciless because on this episode we take on the cult classic 1980 “Flash Gordon” produced by Dino De Laurentiis! Joining Mary and Nic to talk about all camp sci-fi fun is Eric Brooks! Eric and Nic both saw “Flash” in the theater when it was released so it holds a special, Queen-sound-track-filled place in their hearts. Surprisingly enough, even though this year is the 40th anniversary of the film’s release, Mary had never seen it!
So set your watches to Mingo-Mean-Time and get ready for the most lavishly costumed, British-actor-filled, adaptation of the classic Sunday cartoon serial you will ever find!

This episode Mary and Nic are joined by show favorite Mark Mawston. Mark has been wanting to do his favorite Hammer Studios film with us on the show so we’re checking out the Hammer film that some people forgot: “The Damned” (AKA- “These are the Damned”). It’s a rare treat that mixes a bit of sci-fi, a bit of cold war nihilism, and a dash of horror to create an unforgettable film that feels oddly appropriate do cover during the spring of 2020. Oh, and let’s not forget, it has Oliver Reed at his most sinister, and even more diabolically it has a catchy tune the goes with it. Once you hear it, you can’t get it out of your head! Fair warning though, you may want to try and watch this one before the episode because we spoil this one worse than cottage cheese on a car dashboard in July!
