Episode 425: The Swarm

The B Movie Cast is back! This episode is going to be a disaster but in a good way! Special guest Nik Havert joins Mary and the other Nic to talk about his new book on disaster movies from the 50s through the 70s. The team is also checking out the film that bought Michael Caine’s Mom a house… and did little good for anyone else: The Swarm! Yes, it’s killer bees and an all-star cast! The perfect combination for success… if only the movie wasn’t so bad!

Episode 424: 3 Dev Adam, AKA- The Turkish Spiderman

The B-Movie Cast is back and this time we’re taking on a real Turkish delight… “3 Dev Adam”. This film (also known as “3 Giant Men” and “The Turkish Spiderman”) is a real doozy! Someone forgot to tell Turkey that most of the world recognizes copyright law. So Turkey’s film industry has a bit of a reputation for ripping off western hit films… think “Turkish Star Wars”, “Turkish Rambo”, etc.…

In this cinematic spectacle Spiderman isn’t your friendly neighborhood teen hero. He’s a sadistic arch criminal who, along with his sadistic girlfriend Nadja, is murdering everyone he can while running an extremely overly complicated criminal smuggling/counterfeiting ring. Only the combined forces of Mexico’s greatest hero: Santo, America’s greatest hero: Captain America, and, because they needed a third person… Captain America’s girlfriend Julia, can stop Spiderman before he kills even more innocent people.

Join Mary, Nic and Juan as they take a bite out of crime with this Turkish superhero film!

Episode 423: Monster Bash 2019

The B-Movie Cast is back after a bit of a break! This is an unusual episode- it’s our Monster Bash Recap episode. So if you’re a fan of the show tune in and see what happened to Mary, Nic, and Juan at the 2019 Monster Bash. Oh, and there are plenty of hints to future films for the B-Movie Cast tucked away in this show as well! Heat up a TV dinner, grab a beer and get ready for the next episode!

Episode 422: Time After Time

Hey B-Movie Cast listeners! Mary, Nic and Juan are continuing the theme of time travel from last episode with the newest one! Last time Lyle Swann went back in time from 1983 to 1877. Well this episode we look at the 1979 classic “Time After Time” where H.G. Wells chases Jack the Ripper from 1893 London to the streets of 1979 San Francisco!

Malcom McDowell and Mary Steenburgen star along with David Warner (the guy you get when it’s gotta be British, but Michael Caine isn’t available) in this tale of time travel, romance and murder! Be warned though, this episode features spoilers and you won’t be able to turn back the clock once you’ve heard them, so if you haven’t seen it yet, check it out then come back! If you have seen it, sit back, grab some popcorn and a beer and get ready to go from London to San Francisco in less than a minute on another time traveling B-Movie Cast!

Episode 421: Time Rider The Adventure of Lyle Swann

In this episode of The B-Movie Cast Mary, Juan and Nic ask the question: “What if a motocross racer were to accidentally be sent back in time to the old west and he didn’t notice?” Well, fortunately, Michael Nesmith of the 60s band The Monkees asked the same thing, only he made a movie about it! That’s right this episode is about the time traveling western motorcycle film- “Time Rider: The Adventure of Lyle Swann”.

“Time Rider” stars Fred Ward (“Tremors”, “Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins”) and features all those actors you recognize but just can’t quite name… like that guy from that movie that was out that one year… Oh and Peter Coyote!

So sit back, grab a TV dinner, a beer and tune in for “Time Rider: The Adventure of Lyle Swann” on the B-Movie Cast!

Episode 420: The Tower of the Seven Hunchbacks

Just in time for 42o day! Episode 420 of the B-Movie Cast!

On this episode of the B- Movie Cast, Mary, Nic and Juan take a look at a Spanish classic called The Tower of the Seven Hunchbacks (La Torre de los Siete Jorobados). Shot in 1944, this film is the first Spanish feature we’ve covered.

The film features ghosts, including Napoleon of all people…, romance, a murder, a mystery, a musical number, a nutty professor, and a lost city! What more could you ask for? How about seven hunchbacks? Nic counted them, and they are all there… we’re still not sure why though!

So grab a beer, heat up a TV dinner and check out The Tower of the Seven Hunchbacks with the B-Movie Cast team!
