Flesh to touch…Flesh to burn! Don’t keep the Wicker Man waiting!

Welcome to our Halloween Special. This show was pre-recorded a few weeks ago. Join Me, Nic and our special guest from the UK Mark Mawston as we talk about The Wicker Man from 1973. The film was directed by Robin Hardy and stars Edward Woodward and Christopher Lee.

A police sergeant is sent to a Scottish island village in search of a missing girl whom the townsfolk claim never existed. Stranger still are the rites that take place there.

They come from another world…. They want three kilometers of land–and…FIVE of your WOMEN!

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse the whole gang is back as we talk about a Japanese Sci-Fi film from 1957 called The Mysterians. The film was directed by Ishiro Honda.

Aliens arrive on Earth and ask permission to be given a certain tract of land for their people to live on. But when they are discovered to be invaders, responsible for the giant robot that is destroying cities, the armed forces attempt to stop them with every weapon available.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse Arrow US has been nice and given us some DVDs so I picked and French/Italian western from 1969 called Cemetery Without Crosses (aka The Rope and the Colt / Une corde, un Colt).

Manuel is a leather-clad killer, drawn into a tragic kidnap/murder plot by his former flame Maria Caine.

BMC348-Moon 2009

<TMoon/

The last place you’d ever expect to find yourself.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse I’m on a Sci-FI kick again. So I picked a kind of overlooked film from 2009 called Moon. The film was directed by Duncan Jones and stars Sam Rockwell.

Astronaut Sam Bell has a quintessentially personal encounter toward the end of his three-year stint on the Moon, where he, working alongside his computer, GERTY, sends back to Earth parcels of a resource that has helped diminish our planet’s power problems.
