I had an opportunity quite recently to sit down once more with Host, Actor, Comedian, and Writer Ron MacCloskey for his Emmy Award Winning Public Television Series, “Classic Movies with Ron MacCloskey.”
Ron is the writer and producer of the new feature length documentary motion picture, “Boris Karloff: The Man Behind The Monster,” now playing in theaters all across the globe.
For this Halloween themed episode of the popular program, however, we explored the cultural significance, history, and legacy of the most famous “Monster” of them all … King Kong … and his nearly ninety year influence on gorilla films of all shapes and sizes, as well as his career defining impact on the lives and reign of Stop Motion Animation legends, Willis H. O’Brien and Ray Harryhausen.

The B-Movie Cast is taking a bite out of a Paul Naschy werewolf flick: “The Werewolf and the Yeti” (AKA: “Night of the Howling Beast”) for our #9 film in the countdown to our 500th episode! Joining Mary and Nic in this fur-fest is podcaster and Paul Naschy aficionado; Rod Barnett. Get ready for the werewolf vs yeti film with the least possible amount of yeti they could get by with. What it doesn’t have in yeti it makes up for with a whole lot of plot not getting in the way of the story. There’s also not a lot of continuity, but there is a ton of fun as we watch Paul Naschy try to pass off Spain for Tibet and silk shirts for hiking clothes! The countdown to the B-Movie Cast’s 500th Episode has begun! For our #10 film in the countdown, we are looking at something new: the 1970s film craze that was ‘Nurseplotation’! To dive into the sub-genre, we’re checking “Candy Stripe Nurses” from 1974. Mary and Nic are joined in this raunchy film romp by two B-Movie Cast favorites- Beverly Gray and Allan Holzman, both of whom worked on the film with and have fun stories to tell about making the movie and working with Roger and Julie Corman at New World Pictures. So if you’ve got the B-Movie fever, we’re sure that “Candy Stripe Nurses” has the cure on this episode of the B-Movie Cast!
