Episode 462: 3615 Code Père Noël -AKA- Deadly Games

Merry Christmas B-Movie Cast fans! This episode has a special holiday treat from France: “Deadly Games” AKA “3615 Code Père Noël”. It’s the film that we’re pretty sure John Hughes watched in 1989 and said “let’s do that only with 3 Stooges humor instead of murder”. It’s “Home Alone” on steroids and a first for Mary and Juan. Now let’s see if Nic’s winning streak will continue, Mary liked “Tremors” and “Big Trouble in Little China”, but can Nic really pick three in a row that Mary doesn’t hate? Tune in to find out the answer, and stick around to hear why René Manzor is Nic’s new spirit animal! Grab a beer and get ready for some French Yuletide cheer with “Deadly Games” AKA “3615 Code Père Noël”.

Episode 434: Whoever Slew Auntie Roo?

On this episode of The B-Movie Cast Mary, Nic and Juan are checking out a strange little sort-of Christmas movie called “Whoever Slew Auntie Roo”. It’s set in England and stars Shelley Winters, Mark Lester, and Ralph Richardson. It’s a take on the Hansel and Gretel story that takes some dark turns. So join the gang as we try desperately to find one character in this dark little film who isn’t absolutely despicable!

Episode 415: Christmas In Connecticut (1945)

The B-Movie Cast is back with a bonus episode just in time for the Holidays! Mary and Nic decided to do one of Fiona’s favorite holiday films: “Christmas in Connecticut” (the 1945 one, not the one directed by Arnold Schwarzenegger). In fact, we are not only doing one of her favorite holiday films, but we also asked her to join us on the show! Not a typical B-Movie Cast Christmas film, but it’s still a lot of fun.

This is a Christmas film that doesn’t have a lot of Christmas in it… in fact, it starts with a German U-Boat! But that’s no problem because Uncle Felix says it’s all “hunky dunky”! So sit back, grab a TV dinner and a beer and get ready for fun with the B-Movie Cast!

Episode 414: The Hebrew Hammer

Hey, B-Movie Cast fans! It’s the Holiday Season so the B-Movie clubhouse is decking the halls with some holiday fun! This year we thought we’d do something a little different for the season, so Mary, Nic, and Juan are checking out the first “Jewspolotation” film- “The Hebrew Hammer”. When Santa’s psycho son takes over Christmas his first goal is to wipe out Hanukah! Fortunately, The Hebrew Hammer is on the case! This is a 2003 comedy that may not be for everyone, but it is a lot of fun!

So grab a cold beer, heat up a TV dinner and get ready for a good time with The B-Movie Cast!

B Movie Cast Episode 379: Die Hard

diehard-bmc379

This time on the B Movie Cast, Mary, Juan and Nic decide to tackle on of the biggest controversies of modern times: Is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?

Whether you think it is or not, it’s tough to argue that Die Hard didn’t help define a new genre of action movies!

So tune in and join the fun at the B Movie Clubhouse and by the way- Happy Holidays!

Also, check out this week’s contest! It’s a picture from a movie we’ve done on the B Movie Cast!

Ho, Ho, Ho… Now I have a machine gun!

BMC312-Silent Night, Deadly Night 1984

Silent

Shocking… disturbing… The movie they tried to ban.

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse the gang will start our 2 week Christmas Show. First up is Silent Night, Deadly Night from 1984. The film caused an uproar when released in 1984 during the holiday season, and has developed a cult following.

Silent Night, Deadly Night is a 1984 American slasher film produced by Ira R Barmak, written by Michael Hickey, directed by Charles E. Sellier, Jr. and starring Robert Brian Wilson, Lilyan Chauvin, Gilmer McCormick, Toni Nero, Linnea Quigley, Britt Leach, and Leo Geter.

The film focuses on a young boy who, after witnessing his parents’ brutal murder at the hands of a man clad in a Santa suit on Christmas, grows up tumultuously in a Catholic orphanage and slowly emerges into a spree killer himself. The film caused an uproar when released in 1984 during the holiday season, and has developed a cult following.

Silent Night, Deadly Night was one of the most controversial films of the 1980s because the ad campaign, particularly posters and TV spots, made significant emphasis on the killer being dressed as Santa Claus. The PTA fought to have this film removed from theaters due to its subject matter and the fact that it was shown around Christmas, although an earlier film with a similar premise had gone unnoticed.

Plus we have some great feedback.
