Episode 474: Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark


The B-Movie Cast continues our “B is for Blockbuster” series with the 1981 classic “Raiders of the Lost Ark”. Eric Brooks, our resident Egyptologist and Indiana Jones aficionado, joins Mary and Nic to take a look at Steven Spielberg and George Lucas’s homage to the B-movies that inspired them. Episode 464: Black Sunday- Dedicated to John Richardson


The B-Movie Cast is back with a very special episode. In January 2021 actor John Richardson passed from Covid-19. John was a friend of cast favorite, Mark Mawston. Mark asked if we could do a show dedicated to John and look at one of the actor’s favorite films: “Black Sunday” (AKA “The Mask of The Demon”). As a special treat, Mark arranged for John’s former domestic partner (no they were never married) two-time Bond Girl and Hammer Glamour Queen Martine Beswick! Martine shares stories of her time with John and how they met, plus more!

Episode 431: Viy

In this episode of the B-Movie Cast Mary and Nic are joined by special guest Matt Kowalski. Matt knows a thing or two about Eastern Europe and that’s good because this episode we’re going behind the Iron Curtain to check out “Viy”. Made in 1967 It’s the first real horror film to come out of the Soviet Union.

Based on a story by Nikolai Gogol, “Viy” tells the tale of a priest who must spend 3 nights in a tomb with a dead body. The problem is, that the dead body has a bit of a demon problem. Oh, and the priest is really a seminary student who isn’t exactly the holiest of men.

The B-Movie Cast is back! Welcome to our special Halloween episode featuring the return of long-time friend of the show Mark Mawston! Mark joins Mary and Nic in looking at the horror classic “The Shining”. Based on Stephen King’s novel, but interpreted by Stanley Kubrick, “The Shining” is considered by many to be a horror masterpiece. So join Mary, Mark, and Nic (with an extra special visit from Mauve Mawston!) as they talk “The Shining”, the upcoming “Dr. Sleep”, wendigos and more!

The B-Movie Cast is back! This episode Mary and Nic welcome special guest Fiona Young-Brown, author, editor, ghostwriter and owner of BritishFoodandTravel.com to the show. The gang is checking out another flick from 1979, this time it’s a mutant bear stalking the New England woods in Prophecy. This is a favorite go-to monster flick for Nic and even more surprising, of Fiona’s too! So get ready to be lectured on the effects of mercury poisoning right before a bear that looks like a giant killer sausage shows up to rip your face off! But don’t worry, this is the B-Movie cast so no mutant bears were harmed in the making of this episode!

This week at The B-Movie Clubhouse we delve into more Mexican madness from Juan’s Mexican Horrors Vault with The Rider of the Skulls (El Charro de las Calaveras) from 1965. The film was directed by Alfredo Salazar.

A masked, Zorro-like figure in a skull-and-crossbones emblazoned shirt who rides the range fighting monsters and supernatural threats whenever they pop up, which appears to be quite frequently.
