Episode 449: Shield for Murder

In this episode, Mary and Nic are joined by Juan and together the gang is going to take on a dame hungry killer-cop who’s gone berserk with the 1954 film noir: “Shield for Murder”! This gem stars Edmond O’Brien and John Agar, plus a host of familiar faces like Marla English and Morticia Adams herself- Carolyn Jones! The gang also spends a lot of time trying to convince Mary that 256 gigabytes is a lot of storage space for a cell phone! So grab a tasty beverage, pop some corn and tune in to this episode of the B-Movie Cast!

Episode 447: The Damned (AKA- These Are The Damned)

This episode Mary and Nic are joined by show favorite Mark Mawston. Mark has been wanting to do his favorite Hammer Studios film with us on the show so we’re checking out the Hammer film that some people forgot: “The Damned” (AKA- “These are the Damned”). It’s a rare treat that mixes a bit of sci-fi, a bit of cold war nihilism, and a dash of horror to create an unforgettable film that feels oddly appropriate do cover during the spring of 2020.  Oh, and let’s not forget, it has Oliver Reed at his most sinister, and even more diabolically it has a catchy tune the goes with it. Once you hear it, you can’t get it out of your head!  Fair warning though, you may want to try and watch this one before the episode because we spoil this one worse than cottage cheese on a car dashboard in July!

Episode 446: Earth Vs the Spider (AKA- The Spider)

In this episode of The B-Movie Cast, Mary and Nic are joined by Eric Brooks. Though Eric’s specialty is all things Egyptian, he decided to join us for something BIG, and by “BIG” we mean Bert I. Gordon. The gang are checking out one of Mr. B.I.G.’s big creature features: “Earth Vs the Spider” (AKA- “The Spider”). It’s a tale of one giant arachnid who just wants to make some new friends. Unfortunately, by making friends we mean sucking all the juice from their bodies and leaving them dead, dried up husks!
This film is a classic of 50’s sci-fi/horror and it’s a whole lot of fun to watch! So grab your favorite BIG beverage and maybe that extra BIG popcorn and tune for this episode of The B-Movie Cast!

Episode 445: The Beastmaster

The B-Movie Cast is back and this episode Mary and Nic are joined by filmmaker Brian Cunningham. We’re excited to say to the listeners “Hey Beastmaster is on!” That’s right, Mary hasn’t had enough guys in loin clothes yet! First, it was “Ator: The Fighting Eagle” then it was “Yor: Hunter from the Future” now it’s time for “The Beastmaster”! This is probably Mary’s favorite of the ‘barbarian’ 80s flicks and it’s definitely one that Nic saw on HBO at least a hundred times in the 80s.

“The Beastmaster” is from writer/director Don Coscarelli. Coscarelli is best known for the “Phantasm” film series and he brings his love of horror and the macabre to this sword and sorcery tale with some weird magic, crazy creatures, and the evilest Rip Torn the screen has ever seen!

So grab a beer and heat up your TV dinner because it’s time to follow the adventures of Dar, the Beastmaster, as he tries to save the day while not getting mauled by a tiger that’s annoyed at being painted black!

Episode 444: When Worlds Collide

The B-Movie Cast is back! Mary, Nic, and Juan are checking out the 1951 Sci-Fi classic “When Worlds Collide”! This film helped set the bar for science fiction in the 1950s and still holds up today! Get your rocket ship ready because when worlds collide you don’t want to be stuck her on Earth!  So grab a drink, warm up a TV dinner and take a trip to the edge of reality with “When Worlds Collide”!

Episode 443: This Island Earth

In this episode of the B-Movie Cast Mary and Nic are joined by Juan. The 70s and 80s are great and all, but it was time to head back to our B-Movie roots. We looked at the films we’d covered and realized that there were a couple of startling holes in our 50s’ movie coverage. One of them was the classic film “This Island Earth”!

The gang gets out our Interocitors and dives into this sci-fi classic. A big studio film that took 2 ½ years to make, “This Island Earth” is a favorite of ours and we think you’ll enjoy it too! So sit back, grab a beer, heat up that TV dinner and check out the new episode of the B-Movie Cast!
