Episode 398: King Kong

The B-Movie Cast is visiting a classic this time as Mary, Nic and Juan take a look at the original Kaiju movie- King Kong from 1933! Join the gang as we talk about the magic behind the movie, from the war heroes who made the film, to the special effects marvels that still look good nearly 100 years later!

King Kong is a true classic, not just in the genre of monster movies, but in all cinema. From the beauty of Fay Wray to the special effects of Willis O’Brien we hit it all! So grab your favorite TV dinner a good cold drink and tune in to share the wonder of this amazing film with us in the B-Movie clubhouse!

Episode 397: OCTAMAN!

This time on the B-Movie Cast Mary and Nic are joined by special guest Rod Barnett of the “Bloody Pit of Rod” and “The NaschyCast” and the gang gets out our deep sea gear and dives into the eight-armed ball of fun that is 1971’s OCTAMAN! Get ready for all the fun of a film that asks the burning question “what if THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON had tentacles and the science team showed up in an RV?”

The first film to showcase the talents of Oscar Winning FX master Rick Baker, OCTAMAN is a one of a kind B-Movie gem and we’re going to look at every facet! So grab a beer, a TV dinner and, if you like Octopus Sushi, a bit of soy sauce and get ready for OCTAMAN on the B-Movie Cast!

Episode 396: Attack of the Puppet People!

Hey B-Movie fans Mary, Juan and Nic are back at it again. This time we decided to check out something from Mr. B.I.G. himself: Bert i. Gordan’s “Attack of the Puppet People”.

This 1950’s classic was Gordan’s stab at jumping on the ‘shrink’ train after the success of “The Incredible Shrinking Man” and represents a change from Gordan’s usual giant themed films.

So grab a beer, warm up a TV dinner and check out “Attack of the Puppet People” on this episode of The B-Movie Podcast!

Episode 395: The Killer Shrews

This time the B-Movie Cast gang welcomes a special guest: Brian Cunningham! Brian is a professional filmmaker and co-owner of Thought Fly Productions in Louisville Kentucky. He’s worked with Nic on two film projects so far (“Loss Prevention” and “Wretch”) and when he’s not busy making movies he’s watching them!

Since we had a special guest for this week’s movie we thought we’d check out something really good. That didn’t work out so instead we’re doing “The Killer Shrews”!  That’s right! From Ray Kellogg, the man who brought us “The Giant Gila Monster” comes a tale of science gone wrong, of unrequited love, and most of all… the dangers of tripping over a log when running away from a pack of dogs with mops draped over them! Yes “The Killer Shrews”, a film that asks the question “what’s the tiniest, most harmless looking animal we can find and how can we convince people to be scared of it?”

So grab a beer, warm up the TV dinner and get ready for a love triangle between the runner-up for Miss Universe 1957, Roscoe P. Coletran and Festus… that’s right it’s “The Killer Shrews”!
