This film has everything you could hope for in a martial arts film shot in Hungary from rural villages filled with conveniently placed gymnastics equipment to the director employing the real residents of a local mental hospital to play a town full of crazies! The B-Movie Cast is back! In this episode, Mary and Nic are joined by filmmaker, actor, and martial arts movie aficionado, Michael Worth. Michael has taken a break from filmmaking, writing about ‘Bruce-splotation’ films, and launching The Pearl River Collection (of lost Martial Arts flicks) through VCI Entertainment, to check out Robert Clouse’s attempt… ok maybe his third or fourth attempt at this point, to recreate the magic of “Enter the Dragon”, this time with Jackie Chan in “The Big Brawl” (AKA “The Battle Creek Brawl”! We’ve got Jackie Chan kicking some but and showing his stunt skills in 1930s Chicago as he is forced to fight for the mob in the world’s most well-publicized illegal bare-knuckle free-for-all! So, get ready for a fast-paced, action-packed, kung fu fest that may not be Jackie Chan’s best film, but it was certainly his most old-time gangstery one!

This 1986 20th Century Fox release was, like many of Carpenter’s films, not a box office success, but quickly developed a cult following and became a hit on home video. So get ready to dive into long-haul trucking, Kung-Fu, Chinese mysticism, and more snappy dialogue than you can shake a six-demon bag at as the B-Movie Cast checks out “Big Trouble in Little China” as part of our unintentional series of Victor Wong movies!

B-Movie Cast episode 453 is here! This is a special show paying tribute to the late John Saxon. A ubiquitous figure in film and television, John passed away recently at the age of 83. We wanted to check out one of his most iconic films in his honor: “Enter the Dragon”. Mary and Nic are lucky enough to be joined by actor, filmmaker, and writer Michael Worth. Michael worked with John on many projects and was his friend. He also took the time to sit down with John and record him as he recounted some of his memories of his long career. Michael is sharing a small segment of those recordings with us in this episode as John talks about going to Hong Kong to film our movie this episode “Enter the Dragon”.
“Enter the Dragon” wasn’t just any old martial arts film. It was the first real collaboration between the film industries of Hollywood and Hong Kong on a martial arts film. A joint production staring martial arts master Bruce Lee, middleweight Karate champion Jim Kelly and of course John Saxon who also had a black belt in Karate and was also accomplished at Judo.
“Enter the Dragon” would open the door for a new generation of martial arts films, showing the genre to be commercially viable in the American and European markets and setting the bar by which all future martial arts films would be judged.
So, grab some popcorn, crack open a cold beverage and get ready to check out the film where Bruce Lee asks the question “why doesn’t somebody just shoot this guy?”

Hello B-Movie Cast friends and family.
This is a special posting of a special B-Movie Cast. This episode was one that Vince, Michael Worth and co-host Nic Brown recorded earlier this year. The episode was going to be released during some down time for the show. However, as many of you know that didn’t happen because our friend and B-Movie mentor: Vince Rotolo, passed away suddenly in April of this year.
Mary, Juan and I have been working together to see what we can do to bring the show back in Vince’s honor. While going through the files on one of the many computers he used for the cast we discovered this file.
Nic has managed to edit in the standard intro and closing for the cast, along with a ‘blooper real’ bumper that guest host Michael Worth sent in from Lance Henriksen.
We hope you enjoy this special show. There is no feed back in it, we’re still working on that.

Bruce Lee’s spirit lives in … Circle of Iron
On today’s show Nic, Mary and I will be talking about something different a martial arts film. The film is from 1978 and it’s called Circle of Iron. It was originally conceived by Bruce Lee for a way to introduce his Zen Buddhist philosophy to a wide audience. The film was directed by Richard Moore and stars David Carradine, Jeff Cooper, Christopher Lee and Eli Wallach.
